Plastiq will charge you in the currency of your recipient's country. To clarify- the currency used in the country where the recipient business or individual is located.
Deliverable Country | Currency |
United States | USD |
Canada | CAD |
Your card issuer may charge you a conversion fee if you are not paying with your card currency. Please note this is an additional fee charged by your card issuer and not Plastiq.
Foreign Transaction Fees
Your card issuer may charge you a foreign transaction fee if you are not paying within the country your card is issued. Please note this is an additional fee charged by your card issuer and not Plastiq.
International Wire Exception
Currently, all international wires are delivered in USD, regardless of where the recipient is located. If your recipient invoices you in a foreign currency, we recommend you ask them if they can be paid in USD.
Please note that you can still pay international recipients with bank accounts using foreign currencies (e.g. Euros), but the receiving bank will convert the funds from USD, using the currency exchange rates at that time. This could result in additional currency conversion fees for your recipient.
Please note- Plastiq does support Foreign Exchange (ForEx) wire payments upon request. These payments are delivered in the recipient's currency so there's no need to convert the funds when they arrive in the recipient's account. To learn more about international ForEx wires, please contact sales@plastiq.com.
