Plastiq's site allows any cardholder to pay any business with their credit card. If you received a check instead of a direct deposit and the payment does not appear in your Business Portal or reporting, please note the following:
This particular customer went to plastiq.com and searched for a payee, rather than going to your Quick Link URL. When the search results were listed, they did not select your verified business account, but rather added a completely new recipient. This entails adding an address for essentially a completely new payee in our system, completely unrelated to your verified business account.
This is why (1) the payment was sent as a check; and (2) the payment does not show up in your Plastiq reporting.
To prevent this from occurring, please ensure students are being directed to your Quick Link URL to your business page on Plastiq. If you need to know what your Quick Link URL is, please log into your Business Portal and go to the "Quick Link" page.
