Plastiq will initiate a charge to your selected payment method before your payment is sent out for delivery. Depending on the delivery method, this charge can occur several days in advance of your send date or it can occur on the same day the funds are sent. This date is known as your payment's processing date.
Why does this date matter?
You won't see the charge appear on your card statement until we've processed your payment. If you expect your payment to be included in a specific billing cycle for your card, you should pay special attention to this date. Likewise, many Plastiq promotions will factor in your payment's processing date when determining if your submission is eligible for an offer.
To clarify, if you schedule a payment for a month or weeks in advance, that payment will not process immediately. We recommend confirming your card's billing period with your card-issuer and keeping track of when your payment(s) will process.
Before Submitting a Payment
On the payment review screen, click the blue "Delivered by" under the Amount & Schedule section. A window will pop up and show you the processing date for the payment.
After Submitting a Payment
Go to "Manage Payments" and find the payment on the payment timeline. Right under the recipient's name, you will see the processing date of the payment.
Editing a Processed Payment
Once your payment has processed, the payment status changes to In Progress. Payments with this status cannot be edited or altered by Plastiq. If your payment has processed with incorrect crediting details or with incorrect delivery information, please reach out to service@plastiq.com for further assistance.
